The youngest of two, Heather grew up in a period when she and her sister were not always accepted due to their biracial background. With the support of her mother and grandmother, she was able to establish her identity. Heather was raised with an affinity for both the fashion and beauty industries. To this day, She still enjoys watching movies that were created during the era of black and white cinematography. She met her husband Joseph during the early part of the new millennium through a mutual friend. The pair would later cross paths at a college party. They dated briefly before committing to marriage. Heather began work in the banking industry while studying cosmetology. After obtaining her license, she had brief stints with some of the most prestigious salons before turning to make-up. Make-up gave her an opportunity to do what she loved while being paid. Her natural eye for beauty developed into a household name. After the birth their third child, Heather knew that God was calling her to something bigger. After witnessing the early risks, setbacks and successes of her husband in real estate, she was instantly drawn to the idea of working with him. She enrolled and graduated from Champions School of Real Estate, passing her exam to obtain licensure on the first try. Heather and Joseph reside in the Arlington area along with their four children.

Joseph, the oldest of 6 siblings, learned the importance of responsibility early on. Having a fun, but strict father coupled with a laid back mother, Joseph learned to adjust living in what felt like two worlds. No stranger to responsibility, Joseph quickly developed a drive for success. He’d made plans to attend college and began his journey of becoming an anesthesiologist. Unfortunately, Joseph did not accomplish his goal. Just a few months after graduating high school and celebrating his 18th birthday, Josephs father was convicted and sent to prison to serve a 12 year bid. This life altering moment had a profound effect on Joseph spiritually, mentally, emotionally and financially. Left with his grandmother, who is living on a fixed income, and siblings, Joseph decided to not attend a university to start his collegiate career. He enrolled in the local community college and began working numerous jobs to make ends meet. As jobs began to move overseas it became harder and harder for Joseph to maintain. Two years after the conviction of his father, Joseph found himself in the same position but with less time. It was in state jail that Joseph first heard the voice of the Lord instructing him the direction his life needed to take in order to be successful. After a 7 month stint in jail, Joseph reenrolled in community college with a different purpose. After just one semester, he transferred to The University of Texas at Arlington where he excelled. He fulfilled his dream of joining Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity INC as well as graduating. He formed numerous lifelong bonds but none more important than that with his wife Heather. The pair married after less than a year of dating and quickly began their life as parents. Joseph began his professional career in the public schools of Fort Worth ISD working as a Science, Math and Social Studies teacher. After two years of teaching he enrolled in graduate school to obtain his Master’s degree in Educational Administration with an emphasis in Principalship. Joseph accomplished his goal 14 months after enrolling. He was hired as an assistant principal but was derailed due to his background. This motivated Joseph to leave the school district and open what would become The Joseph Ray Academy of Math & Science. His academy, although fully accredited, lasted 3 years due theft of revenue by a trusted family member. Joseph was forced to return to public school out of duty to his family and the many responsibilities they now had. It was during this time that he founded The JVR TAX GROUP LLC; became a franchise owner in the largest cleaning company in the world and ventured into real estate. Now a professional investor, Joseph’s purpose is to lead God’s people to financial freedom and has chosen Real Estate as the path to do so. Joseph and his wife Heather reside in the Arlington area along with their four children.
